2022 Board Member Openings

We still have the following position open on our 2022 Board:  College Relations & Workforce Readiness


  • If you have a passion for the HR profession, demonstrate leadership skills, possess excellent communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team we’d like to hear from you. 

  • In addition to the reward of giving back to the HR profession, volunteers have the opportunity to earn credits toward SHRM and HRCI re-certification
  • Board Members are required to maintain an active membership with Prince William SHRM during their term.

College Relations & Workforce Readiness Director:  Develop and support workshops and seminars that address workforce readiness issues. Promote our scholarship program to local colleges/universities and the HR community.  Monitor and evaluate on a continuing basis local activities concerning workforce readiness issues and plans. Recommend community service projects to be supported by the chapter, such as resume workshops at colleges, high schools and in the community. Help develop programs to enhance student involvement in Chapter activities.  Encourage chapter involvement and activities affecting the workforce readiness arena. Monitor local activities concerning workforce readiness. Communicate with local faculty/colleges to provide classroom visits to discuss HR topics, the Chapter, internships/scholarships, SHRM membership, etc. Act as mentor to college students seeking a career in HR. Represent the chapter in the HR community. Minimum time commitment per month: 3-5 hours
