In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, our April meeting will be held virtually via ZOOM and offered for FREE to our Members and Consortium Members and for $10 to any Non-Member except Students who will be charged $5. 

If you registered for the event prior to the change in venue and paid the regular monthly meeting fee, your account will be credited accordingly.  You will be able to use the credit toward a future payment to Prince William SHRM such as a meeting fee or membership dues.  Impacted individuals will receive a separate email communication from our Treasurer.


Active Chapter Member Rate:   Log-in to your member account on the registration page to receive the member rate.

Consortium Member Rate:  Refers to members of local SHRM chapters that we have entered in to an agreement to offer our discounted member rate to their chapter members  (Loudoun SHRM, Fauquier Culpeper SHRM).  If an ineligible individual registers with this rate, they will be billed the difference of the applicable non-member rate.

Student Rate:  To support individuals enrolled full-time in a HR related degree program, a discounted registration fee is available for our breakfast meetings.

Employee handbooks contain important information that is valuable to employees, provide guidance for consistent treatment with regard to company policies, and can be a defense in employment law cases. Is your handbook thorough, up to date, readily available and easy to understand? When was the last time you updated your handbook? This session will help you ensure that your handbook makes the grade.

 

Kristina Keech Spitler, Esq. is a shareholder at Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C. and has been practicing law for thirty years. With a background as a civil litigator and former prosecutor, as well as experience with employment, business, corporate, real estate, zoning, and municipal law.  Ms. Spitler uses her extensive experience and knowledge to partner with her clients to understand their legal and business needs and provide innovative solutions that are specific to each client. Ms. Spitler focuses on Employment Law, Civil Litigation, Business/Corporate Law, and Municipal Law including matters relating to hiring and firing, breach of agreements, non-compete and restrictive covenant agreements, discrimination, disabilities and accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act (wage and hour law), Family Medical Leave Act, and defamation.
